ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Katie.

I grew up riding in Michigan, where I was fortunate to have great childhood trainers who emphasized good horsemanship and safety. As a junior, my horse-of-a-lifetime, Higgins gave me several competitive years of fun, from the Children's and Junior Hunters to the "Big Eq", including rides in Lexington, Harrisburg and Washington, D.C.

I moved to the UK in 2010 for my Master's degree and England has been home ever since. While studying, I competed with Oxford University's riding club, where I pretended I could ride a dressage test and learned that, bafflingly, the British hand out red ribbons for first place.
But what I really enjoyed as a member of the OURC was the range of horses I was lucky enough to jump around a course of fences. I was hugely impressed by the bravery, attitude and quality of what were simply the "lesson horses" here. I thought many of them could do fantastically in the hunter ring.
I discovered that there was—and remains—an big cost discrepancy between competition horses in the US and UK. Even factoring in vetting and transport costs, I realized this could still put incredibly talented horses within the means of American riders struggling to find the right horse in their budget.
If only there were a Trans-Atlanic Dream-Horse Shopping Service...

In 2021, I was given the chance to test my theory, successfully sending the first horse "home" to Michigan, having tried him on behalf of his prospective buyer and helped to manage all aspects of his vetting, sale and transport.
Since then, the horse shopping hasn't stopped. I look forward to the opportunity to be the matchmaker and travel agent for your next equine partner.
